Advanced Emergency Medical Technician

Position Summary:

Engages in the provision of intermediate life support pre-hospital activities including direct patient care, supervision and direction of ambulance crews, basic life support provider mentoring/direction, public education/outreach, and other duties as required. Works an assigned 12-hour shift, or other assigned shift, responding as needed during that shift; does related work as required.

Qualifications - Required Certifications:

• Graduation from an accredited high school/ GED or equivalent
• Pennsylvania Department of Health AEMT/Paramedic certification
• Completion of an approved Emergency Vehicle Operator’s Course (EVOC) / EMSVO
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s history
• Current CPR Certification
• Hazardous Materials Awareness Level 
• Child Abuse Clearance
• Criminal Background Check
• FBI Background Check 

Benefits:

• New Employee Sign-On Bonus
  • Complete at least at least one year of continuous and steady employment, defined as working 12 hours/2 week pay period. The sign-on bonus shall be $500.00, paying $250.00 upon completion of the probationary period (90 days) and $250.00 upon completing one year of employment.
• Starting Base Pay during Probation
  • AEMT/Paramedic < = 3 years of active 911 experience
    • $17.00/hour (upon satisfactory completion of a probationary period the employee shall receive a $1.00/hr increase)
  • AEMT/Paramedic  3-7 years of active 911 experience
    • $18.00/hour (upon satisfactory completion of a probationary period the employee shall receive a $1.00/hr increase)
  • AEMT/Paramedic  7+ years of active 911 experience
    • $19.00/hour (upon satisfactory completion of a probationary period the employee shall receive a $1.00/hr increase)
